Introduction
Institute of Biophysics and Biochemistry was founded in 1993.
Its members have begun research on patch clamp technique since 1987.
We successfully made the patch clamp amplifiers and data collection and
analysis system(PC-I and PC-II).
Using them, we are able to detect single channel current and whole
cell membrane current of neuron cells, thus to perform research on the field
of receptor detection , cardiovascular pharmacology , intracellular second
messenger and the mechanism of cell secretion.
Our institute have collaborations with famous domestic research
centers such as Tongji Medical University, Beijing Medical University. We
also have oversea cooperation with Prof. Neher in Germany(1991 Nobel Price
Winner)¡¢Prof. C. Lingle DonBers¡¢ Prof. C.Artalejo¡¢S.
Misler¡¢M. Matlib in USA¡¢Prof. R..Chow in England
and Prof. F. Tse in Canada.. We have scientific collaboration agreement
with them, to apply foundation together and exchange visitor scholars .
For the past five years, 5 Ph.D students and nearly 30 post-graduate students
graduated from here. Among them is the Prof. Zhuan Zhou , who have breaking-through
advancements in the measurement of the intracellular calcium buffering system¡¢calcium
permeability of neuron cells and also the quantitatively assessment of the
hormone released by cell exocytosis.
